Haw Par Mansion — Grade 1 historic house transforming into a new arts and cultural hub in late 2026

Completed in 1936, Haw Par Mansion was built as the private residence of Aw Boon Haw — better known as the “King of Tiger Balm.” The historic building blends Chinese Renaissance architecture with traditional design elements, making it one of Hong Kong’s most distinctive heritage properties. In 2001, the mansion and its surrounding gardens (covering more than 2,000 square metres) were handed over to the government for preservation, and are open to visitors with guided tours, with more arts and cultural events to take place in 2026.

Tin Hau Neighbourhood guide Causeway Bay Lin Fa Kung Temple

Lin Fa Kung Temple — Temple closely connected to the famous Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance

Also known as the Temple of the Lotus, Lin Fa Kung was built to honour Guan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy. Its unusual architecture (with entrances on both sides of the building rather than the centre) makes it stand out among Hong Kong’s temples. The temple is also closely connected to the famous Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance, which takes place in the nearby streets during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
