Hong Kong’s First Comic Con To Host Global Celebrities

For the first time ever, global pop culture juggernaut Comic Con is officially touching down in Hong Kong from Friday, 29 May to Sunday, 31 May, 2026. While Hong Kong already has its own local cosplay gathering, this is the real deal — featuring Hollywood heavyweights, major international franchises and even a ‘Superfan Committee’ whose tasked with making sure the event doesn’t feel like a corporate slog.

The debut Hong Kong Comic Con (HKCC) 2026 will take over the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in Wan Chai for three full days of cosplay chaos, promising to be the ultimate meet-up for East meets West geekery. Here’s the daily lowdown:

Friday, 29 May, 2026 – Opening Day (10am to 8pm)
The convention kicks off with the main exhibit hall floor opening, including massive studio displays, artists showing off their work in Artist Alley and the first wave of Main Stage panels where industry folks talk shop about the future of storytelling across screens and pages.

Saturday, 30 May, 2026 – Peak Star Power & Cosplay (10am to 8pm)
This is the main event for celebrity spotting. Confirmed guests so far include Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal, Star Wars), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, The Mandalorian) and Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future). Afternoon brings the official HKCC Cosplay Competition, judged by pro cosplayers from around the world.

Sunday, 31 May, 2026 – Gaming & Family Day (10am to 7pm)
Comic Con’s last day leans hard into the Gaming Zone and hands-on fan experiences. This is also your final chance to grab photo ops and autographs with the Hollywood guests, capped off with a ‘Closing Celebration’ panel teasing what’s coming in 2027.
