Major Ancient Egypt Exhibition At Hong Kong Palace Museum
The Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) has opened its largest and most comprehensive Egyptian exhibition to date. “Ancient Egypt Unveiled: Treasures from Egyptian Museums” features 250 artefacts on loan from Cairo, including recent discoveries from the Saqqara archaeological site.
Located in Gallery 9, the exhibition traces 5,000 years of history across four sections: “The Land of Pharaohs,” “The World of Tutankhamun,” “The Secrets of Saqqara” and “Ancient Egypt and the World.” Highlights from the expansive collection include a colossal statue of Tutankhamun and newly unearthed anthropoid coffins! Be sure to swing by the gift shop if you want to take some ancient Egyptian ‘artefacts’ home with you — including blind boxes!
Celebrating the success of “Ancient Egypt Unveiled,” the HKPM Starbucks concept store has also debuted exclusive beverages, including a Turmeric Oatmilk Latte and a Plum Blossoms series featuring Oolong Tea, Coffee and Tonic variations with creamy foam. Plus, across all Hong Kong locations, Starbucks launched exclusive themed food items — the Golden Pistachio Pyramid Cake and Mummy’s Secret Roll — plus new merchandise like demi sets, tumblers, luggage tags and passport holders inspired by ancient Egyptian symbols.
The ancient Egypt exhibition at the Hong Kong Palace Museum is open on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 10am to 6pm, and Friday, Saturday and Public Holidays from 10am to 8pm
